The beach is divided into Wyk, Nieblum, Gotting, and Utersum sections.

You can rent beach chairs on the different beaches, and lifeguards from the DLRG keep an eye on everything.

In Nieblum, Gotting and Wyk, you will find nudist beaches and sections for dogs.

Families with children will find peace, relaxation, and a safe bathing environment here.

But fun and action are not neglected either: volleyball courts, playgrounds, and surf and sailing schools offer plenty of variety.

Our tip: You can fly your kites on a specific section of the beach.

Familienlagune Perlebucht

As its name suggests, the family lagoon in Perlebucht on the island of Büsum in the North Sea is designed for families and their needs.

But, of course, the others are not lost here either.

The Perlebucht is an artificial island, so a protected lagoon has been created between it and the island of Büsum. About 100,000 square meters of water have been made, which are not influenced by the tide.

You can swim, surf or kite, grill your meat in one of the barbecue areas or play volleyball.

You will find public toilets and changing rooms on the beach, DLRG swimsuits, and play areas for young and old children.

Whether for a weekend trip to the Baltic Sea or a summer vacation with the family, it is a great place to stay.

You can rent beach chairs, try your hand at surfing, or cycle around the Bay of Lübeck.

So you can keep fit even on vacation and, thanks to the flat landscape, it won’t be too tiring.

Lister Ellenbogen

It is the northernmost beach in Germany and is also the most beautiful in Germany.

Lister Ellenbogen on the North Sea island of Sylt is a paradise for windsurfers and kitesurfers and offers suitable conditions for beginners.

The wide, sandy beach is ideal for families, as children can build sandcastles or romp on the beach.

However, it is better not to swim here.

At Lister Ellenbogen, the open sea and the Wadden Sea meet, and dangerous currents can arise.

But thanks to its beautiful location, the beach, and the surroundings are ideal for walks.

On a clear day, you can even see as far as the Danish island of Rømø, four kilometers away.

Warnemunde

The next destination of your Baltic Sea holiday could be the beach in Warnemünde.

The beautiful beach in Germany is especially popular with tourists from «Balkonia.»

Warnemünde is a district of Rostock and attracts many holidaymakers every year, not least because of the significant events of the Warnemünde Week and Hanse Sailing, which attract many people.

Warnemünde beach can be very crowded, especially in the high season.

You should head to the nudist area or the edges if you want peace.

In the eastern part of Warnemünde beach, the focus is on families.

A large climbing wall, playgrounds, and trampolines await you at the “Playa de los Piratas.”

But families also feel at ease on the rest of the beach.

For children, the sandy beach is a paradise for building castles or swimming, while parents can make themselves comfortable in one of the beach chairs.

7. Schwedeneck

We now turn to our tip among the beaches of the Baltic Sea.

Schwedeneck Beach is not as developed for tourists as most Baltic Sea beaches.

But it captivates with its natural beauty and pleasant tranquility.

You can find accommodation on the Baltic Sea at the adjacent campsite.

The beach is hidden behind a few holiday homes and a wild meadow.

You can rent a kite and surf equipment on the beach or just jump into the cool water.

You can’t rent beach chairs here, and you won’t find any restaurants.

If you want to use the toilets or are a little hungry, you have to go to the campsite.

If you don’t like tourist beaches, this is the right place.

If you want a little more comfort on your Baltic Sea vacation, you should choose another beach.

Schwedeneck Beach is a dog owner’s paradise, where you can let your four-legged friend run free everywhere.

Even if you like a seamless tan, you can stay all over the beach.

Weststrand Darß

Another of the most beautiful beaches in Germany is Weststrand, on the Darß peninsula, in the Baltic Sea.

It is located in the center of the “Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft” national park and has often been voted one of the most beautiful beaches in Germany and Europe.

The unique charm of this beach is its secluded location directly in the Darß forest.

You can walk, sunbathe, or jump into the water on the fine sand beach, about 14 kilometers long.

The trees you find directly on or along the beach are strangely warmed by the ever-present wind and grow at an angle to the wind that constantly blows over the water.

Take a little walk and discover these “wind fleeces” on the western beach of Darß.

Bensersiel

Bensersiel Beach is situated on the beautiful North Sea coast, opposite the East Frisian island of Langeoog.

Bensersiel belongs to the small town of Esens in Lower Saxony. The fine white sand beach leaves nothing to be desired.

There is a campsite directly on the beach.

You can find out when the courses are held on the notice boards.

For example, you can try yoga, pilates, Nordic walking, or unicycling.

If you want to combine your North Sea holiday with a dog, there are several stretches of Spiekeroog beach where dogs are allowed.

Kniepsand auf Amrum

This Amrum beach is not an island beach but an extremely slow-moving sandbank.

It is away from the Amrum beach and blends into it, so you don’t notice the difference.

In the 16th century, the sandbank was still at a right angle to Amrum Island, and it will not remain where it is now forever. It has a length of about 15 kilometers and a width of 1.5 kilometers.

Amrum Beach is a popular destination for North Sea holidays.

You can enjoy sunbathing or playing with the children.

Thanks to the shallow depth of the beach, even bathing in the North Sea is safe for children.

In Kniepsand, you will find beach huts that islanders and tourists build-out of the debris.

So if you see a cabin like this, don’t be surprised; everything is in order.

Artist Otfried Schwarz collected fishing debris and whatever else he could find and used it to build the first beach hut.

Today, the authorities tolerate them because they are a point of tourist interest.

However, they can only be built from what is found on the beach and cannot be used as accommodation.
